For more than 30 years years S/R Labs has been synonymous with the heritage and craftsmanship of animation art. It’s no wonder Lab Listings has become one of the most respected and faithfully-awaited events in the collecting year.

We prepare months in advance for a sale, selecting only the finest and most interesting artwork of each kind. All art presented for sale receives basic conservation care. Cels are cleaned, tape and staples removed, tears patched, and more. Some objects demand more preservation, and they enter the formal restoration process, receiving the same attention to tradition and quality given our regular conservation work. We set aside a portion of our work schedule to attend to auction art.

Restoration is determined by the individual needs of the art and ranges from strengthening delicate ink lines or in-painting a special color to cleaning and polishing a Courvoisier wood veneer background. Whatever treatments are performed, the art receives the utmost in traditional conservation care. We will be pleased to discuss the condition of any lot featured in the sale prior to the auction. We don’t pretend that Lab Listings is the only place to find the world’s finest selection of animation art, but we go to lengths others can’t touch.
